Child (pointing): Mommy? What is that?
Mother (with an indulgent smile): It’s the sky dear. Isn’t it a lovely shade of blue?
Child: The sky can be blue?
Mother: Yes dear, when it’s not raining.
Child (whispering): wow…
I see photographs everywhere I go. I’ve always used the excuse that I don’t have my camera, it’s too heavy, I don’t like taking it on the bus, blah, blah, blah. Now I have my iPod touch which contains a camera. No excuses any longer.
And there it lies. Empty when once it was full. The contents previously enjoyed and the husk discarded. Left to the elements to either break it down or to force it into a corner.
I am an enthusiastic photographer, not yet professional. In an attempt to hone my craft I’ve begun a photography 365 project. This means that I intend to take one photo every day for a year. Today I begin with a self-portrait challenge issued by the Digital Photography School.
